The man could sing and play. He definitely brought a different dynamic to Clapton's blues in Cream. RIP Jack.

I was lucky enough to grow up as a blues loving teenager in 60s London, so got to regularly see Jack play with Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, John Mayall, Gary Bond and of course Cream. Without doubt the best bass player of his generation. To see him, Clapton and Baker at the top of their game was amazing, the three of them all playing solo at the same time yet still making the best music you could hear !

A lot of youngsters may not know of his work from the 'hazy, heady daze' of the 60s and 70s but he sure could play ok Mike.

Just started watching the "Beware of Mr. Baker" documentary on YouTube which has a lot about Jack in it too.

I never knew how long their history was or that Jack started off playing stand up.

He will definitely hold a place in rock/blues history!

What is amazing though is the legacy of the greats! My 11 year old, aspiring guitar player, son, loves Cream. I'm 52 years old and it was my Dad that turned me on to Cream so now they are well know for three generations in our family. Bruce, Baker and Clapton.....the first BIG rock trio (well.....blues, jazz fusion but who wants to pigeon hole). Our collective loss but Jack certainly left his mark!
